Sobre mí

CURRENT MISSION

To not be a tourist in other peoples lives, but to make true connections

ABOUT ME

I am a very positive, fun-loving, and easy-going person! I have had the opportunity to travel to several countries in Europe over the past five years including England, France, Spain, the Netherlands, and Italy. I've tended to stay in hostels when I travel but I have heard nothing but good things about Couch Surfing and I am excited to become part of the community!

I studied Archaeology, Anthropology and French while at GWU and I am currently at University College London to pursue a degree in Cultural Heritage Studies. I love learning about other peoples way of life and I would love to share my experiences where I can and when people are interested! I don't have any extreme allergies and I am very much an animal person - I grew up with a cat and other small animals, but I am also a dog person.

Not much makes me tick except for close-mindedness, but that is more of a view on life than a living habit and I doubt anyone participating in a community such as CS would be that way. I honestly am very adaptable - I like to go out and have a good time but enjoy quiet nights in - so whatever lifestyle you are leading I am sure I won't get in the way!

PHILOSOPHY

I do not judge, but try to understand

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have yet to begin my CS journey but in the future I hope I will be able to participate in discussions, meet ups, and eventually have the accommodations to host others!

Intereses

History, biking, running, anything outdoors really, trying new things, dancing, detective/war movies, wine (don't know too much about it but I do enjoy drinking it), and learning from others

Música, películas y libros

I like most music I get my hands on, although if the lyrics are too mind numbing I tend to toss it, that being said I Indie Rock, Folk, Alternative, Pop, Blugrass. Specifically - The Killers, Death Cab for Cutie, Arctic Monkeys, Phoenix, Lorde, Coldplay, Lissie, Neon Trees, Florence, Ingrid Michelson, etc.

I'm all over the place with books - reading the A Song of Ice and Fire series by GRRM, recently read Vonnegut's "A Breakfast of Champions", Gabriel García Márquez "One Hundred Years of Solitude," and Meacham's "Thomas Jefferson: The Art of Power." Perhaps cliché but I always love reading Pride and Prejudice.

I watch less movies then I do TV series but I love detective/war movies

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I don't think I have anything too exciting for others but if you'd like to talk Mesoamerican archaeology I will be happy to share all that I know! I also know how to whistle with my hands, knit, get stains out of most things, make a paper crane, and play the flute - the last one might be hard to teach though if you don't have your own. I also know quite a bit about tea if you have any questions about how to get the perfect cup ;)

If anyone know any woodworking skills I think that would be fantastic to learn. And languages!
