ABOUT ME

Uchechi is a good listener, and she really means it when she asks: how are you? She's a great cook with a natural inclination towards improvising in the kitchen. She has friendships that last for many years. She knows how to take a difficult situation and use it to grow as a person.

Intereses

Empowering people with the written and spoken word. I am a writer, poet and performer. I also love to listen to people, and really hear their stories. That's what draws me to live each day so fully, knowing that nothing is guaranteed and that we must make the most of our time on this earth. I do yoga, meditate and make things(experiences, interactions, recycling) useful, even if someone else does not think it is useful.

After leaving Nigeria, I returned to my village with my family. I then realized the suffering that was happening and knew so clearly that I could have easily been one of my relatives. I was very humbled by that experience. I think it was the first time I understood "grace."

I realized I really loved a man that I did not see that way, but who was in front of me the whole time. I almost lost him, and in having the opportunity to love him, I was very awestruck and humbled.
