ABOUT ME

I usually describe myself as your friendly, neighborhood polisci major. I love politics and my concentration is on East Asian Studies - so if you give me the chance I can talk about China for hours. I love SciFi - though I wouldn't call myself the stereotypical geek. Although I do love everything crafted by Warren Ellis - a comment that speaks for itself. I've studied French for 4.5 years, and Chinese for the equivalent of 2 years. I've had the same girlfriend for the past four years - and we both love to travel. Religiously I am agnostic, and politically I suppose I would consider myself a Libertarian. I'm generally an open, honest person who enjoys an open debate.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that life is to be enjoyed. However, at the same time - I do not want to spend my life simply moving from one enjoyable experience to the next. I want to feel that I have changed something; made the world a better place than when I first came. I truly believe in Winston Churchill's words that, "success is defined as moving from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm."

I have never couch surfed before, but I do think its a novel idea and am looking forward to trying it.

Intereses

I'm interested in Politics - obviously, the cultures and politics of East Asia - equally obvious, and many other things...wow three in a row. I'm a huge movie buff, and I try to get to the cinema at least once every two weeks. I have worked at Best Buy, Banana Republic, and Kay Jewelers - all of which had interesting fields of study for me. I'm interested in too many things for me to type them all down here - so feel free to send me a message and in the immortal words of Sara Palin, "I'll get right back to ya on that!"
