Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

Hello world! I joined couchsurfing as I'm going to Japan this summer with my boyfriend, and would like to find a few options (other than hotels) in terms of places to stay. Afterwards, if the experience is positive, I'd be happy to think about opening up my home to people passing through Québec and wishing to visit Montréal. (Not that much to do in Laval :p)

We're staying 18 days total and starting out in Tokyo, then going down to Osaka for a few days before heading further south to Hiroshima and then coming back up to Osaka to catch our flight back home.

We got a JR pass, so from Osaka we'll be visiting the surrounding areas, like Kyoto and Kobe, and if we got enough time, we'll head to Tajima, the region where I lived in 2008-09 when I was teaching in Japan.

Food! I enjoy cooking (and eating, obviously). I also spend way too much time on the internet.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

My taste in music is varied, but I do tend to like the rock-punk-pop sound.

I'm not much of a movie fan, I much prefer series where you can stay with characters for years and watch them grow. But if I had to pick movies, then most of the Marvel stuff (then again, it's a series of movies now ;) )

Books: Currently re-reading Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles. Lately, I enjoyed the Hunger Games, rereading Harry Potter, a bunch of Stephen King's stuff (and his Québécois near-equivalent, Patrick Sénécal) But my guilty pleasure is and remains reading good fanfiction featuring whichever OTP I'm favoring at the time.

I can teach French, am a trained English as a second language teacher (sorta rusty at the moment since I lack practice), love to cook and am always open to learning new things.
