ABOUT ME

I always find this as the hardest part....I suppose I'm adventurous and inquisitive about places and cultures. I love to talk and listen to peoples stories, especially about travel. Sometimes I love being in a group and other times I love being alone to ponder my own thoughts. I love being free, I suppose I'm a bit of a hippy at heart.

PHILOSOPHY

I think we are always learning and I love it when something new comes along. I love being free and able to move through life with a somewhat permanent smile on my face. The main thing is being happy so as soon as I'm not then I take to the road again for another adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

It's always nice to meet up with new people for coffee/beer/wine or just a wander through a new town or city. I'm usually travelling so haven't had a couch for others to surf, but have been lucky enough to surf others. When I'm staying with someone I always cook for them as a way to say thank you for hosting a stranger.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed a couch, well actually a floor of a very nice American family in China and helped to look after their children. They even took me for dinner and let me cook them a thank you meal in their kitchen. It's not recorded on my couchsurfing page as I was travelling with a friend and we had a joint page at the time. Stayed with a few great people in Italy recently and was treated to ice-cream, pasta, wine (you know all those fabulous Italian products) all my experiences have been positive with no exception, and I look forward to many more.

Interests

my life is travelling and a big part of that is walking. I just love being in the countryside and nature. I'm also a huge fan of reading and can often be found sitting outside with a book in my hand, usually with a nice glass of red wine in the other!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Walked the great wall of China, dived with a whale shark and manta rays, skydived in Australia, ziplined through the northern jungles of Laos, worked and lived in 4 different countries, camped in the middle of nowhere for a month in Mongolia...the list could be endless

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching is my life and I have strength when it comes to teaching English. I have travelled to a great many places and love sharing my experiences with others. I'm also a qualified advanced nitrox diver and try to learn different languages along the way.
