ABOUT ME

I am a 22 year old Aussie, and my partner, Nathan, is 26. We are wanting to spend the next couple of years travelling, exploring and meeting new people, before life gets in the way. We are both go with the flow kind of people. We love a good conversation, especially a spirited debate in the name of fun, even if our point of views differ. We are very outgoing. We are also very respectful, and will always do our share of a workload, whether it's preparing a meal, or getting ready to go camping.

PHILOSOPHY

I am not religious and believe in myself more than anything. That is to say I like to take responsibility for my own life choices and learn from them. I still studied religion and enjoy hearing different views on the subject. I believe people can have different opinions and agree to disagree. It should be everyone's own choice in what they believe in, and everyone reaches different conclusions in different ways.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We cannot host at the moment, due to housemates, and would prefer to experience it first to learn what a host should do, but we will be able to next year, particularly people who have hosted for us.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are complete newbies to all of this but can't wait to be one of the initiated!

Interests

We love the outdoors and spend lots of time camping, shooting, motorbike riding etc. We love to make friends and have a drink and a laugh. We refuse to do a tour because we would like to immerse ourselves in a country rather than just hang out with a tour group.

Music, Movies, and Books

With movies and books, pretty much enjoy anything from any genre, from silly comedy to dark thrillers. The only movies I don't enjoy really are British Comedy (with the obvious exception of Monty Python)
Music wise, I again like many different genres, from house music for clubbing, to rock and even a bit of jazz. The only thing I completely stay away from is heavy metal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling to Papua New Guinea together last year was pretty fantastic. Meeting some wonderful locals, and hearing some great tales from other travellers certainly kicked off our travel bug. One mistake we made was planning too far ahead, and for instance when we were invited by a villager to stay the night at his home and his wife would prepare us a traditional meal, we had to decline as we had already organised and paid for accommodation. This was irritating as we would have loved that experience. We did not expect people to be so accommodating I suppose.

Teach, Learn, Share

Anyone who knows anything about anything. I feel like I haven't found my niche yet, and am still playing around with my career ideas, so I really enjoy listening about anything from an insiders perspective. Secret cooking skills would be wonderful to learn, since I am only a basic cook. I can contribute little bits of information about a lot of subjects.
