Music, Movies & Books

Movies: Fight Club, Pulp Fiction, Cidade Deus, Amores Perros, Music: Chico Cesar, Zeca Bailero. Books: Shantaram, Love in the time of Cholera, The clash of civilizations

These are just examples, but I like many many more. Its gives you an idea of my tastes.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

One of the most amazing things I have done recently was learning basic phrases of aymara, a indigenous language that is hard to learn and is only spoken widely in highland Bolivia by one million people aprox. This helped me to conduct field research in the indigenous communities of Bolivia. It was amazing seeing how the stoic expressions of the monoligual subsistance farmers changed once I started talking in a language they assumed I did not speak.

Also, I discovered and named two new species of toads from the highlands of Costa Rica when I worked as a naturalist in the country.

Teach, Learn, Share

You can always learn from everybody if you accept that everybody has a lesson for us.

What I Can Share With Hosts

I can tell hosts many which places to visit in Costa Rica and give them advice about safe traveling in the couuntry. I have always been on a shoestring as a traveler therefore I can advice people accordingly.
