About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To work, play, save up, and be a goshdarn good person

ABOUT ME

I am a server at a Thai restaurant on Alberta, an amateur comedian (only six months in), a pick-up soccer nut, and an aspiring film maker. I have a partner who I love and have been with for several years. We are waiting for her lease to expire July 1st to get a place together. I would live at her place but it's crowded enough as it is. I was living in SW PDX with a fellow comedian for only two months until he lost his job and had to move back home. Since I'm trying to save up for a nice apartment with my partner, I would rather not rent a room until we find our place in around July/August. I enjoy lengthy pet projects that involve things I have not yet tried like gardening for instance. If you have a garden and need the extra help for Spring and Summer, I am more than willing to help. I can cook up a mean carbonera and chimichurri steak. I'm not an pricky carnivore and am more than willing to support a vegan/vegetarian household and keep my animal eating ways out of the house. I'm a progressive voter who leans on the social democratic model of Scandinavia and Venezuela. I'm open minded, cool, and helpful.

PHILOSOPHY

Telling silly jokes and cracking people up. I'm fairly good at it. If you ask me to tell jokes, I won't shy away, I won't make up an excuse. I'll do a quick 3. Okay, not really, I try to save the bits for the stage. I think everybody should be a good person. Communicate, respect peoples privacy and lifestyle. Hang out and not be strangers. And you know, just be silly. Snap your fingers and say "Hell yes Life." Embrace it. Do dumb things like perform a well timed pratfall. Why not? Say a pun but be subtle about it. Don't drink to get drunk, drink to talk and take that edge off. Be functional. Live your life. Enjoy flowers and blueberries. Be a good well rounded person. Talk about how you feel. I won't make it awkward. Be honest and genuine. Watch the weather channel. Don't be ashamed that you like the weather! It's colors on a map that affect your immediate environment. That's fun. Eat a stick of butter on a dare! Or Earth Balance butter, it's still gross and juvenile but entertaining. Be a good person. That's all!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

My girlfriend and I have discussed opening up our doors to travelers. She really wants to go to Europe one day and loves to meet individuals from around the world. Her passion is to travel and soak in life. I have been to South America and Southeast Asia and lived that life. I'd say I'm more reserved in my international ambitions at the moment. I am more focused on my passions of performance and film making. We may open our doors to whomever wishes to pass through Portland in the not so distant future.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have let couch surfers into my home several times in the past when I was going to college in Olympia. Due to the transient and loose DIY nature of Oly, I had no problems meeting people at shows or parties and letting them crash for a couple of nights until their next destination. I lived in house with five of my good friends. It was an artsy coop, and we staged many house shows that featured among other things, visual art showings, live music, and comedy. from Thursday-Sunday, it was common to have cool strangers sleeping on our couch as one of the residents was a member of this website.

Music, Movies, and Books

You could ask me that. There's too much stuff.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Uh, Carnival in Salvador, Brazil. A santo Daime ritual in the jungles of Brazil. A new monks festival during the Thai New Year. Som Krom water festival in Thailand. I made out with James Adomian from last comic standing during one of his sets as the Sheriff of Nottingham. I've seen Todd Barry bomb with grace. I don't know, there's too much fun dumb stuff that I've both seen and done.

Teach, Learn, Share

I will teach you to write a bit. A skit. a good clean joke. A character. I've been in theater my whole life. I've got skills. I know exercises. The suzuki method, that's like butoh meets yoga meets war dancing for actors. You want to balance two jugs of water while delivering a Tennessee Williams monologue, I can make that happen.
