About Me

to always listen with an open heart

I'm a retired bilingual teacher and my partner, Rob, is a retired tax consultant. We spend part of the year in Los Angeles and part of the year in Seattle, Wa. on Lake Union on a 66 yr. old boat. We're easy going and adventurous and both have a good sense of humor. We enjoy meeting new, interesting people with a story to tell. We travel frequently and have friends in many different places. We are progressive thinkers who enjoy the exchange of ideas. I spent 10 years living in Mexico and have strong ties to the country and people. 3 years ago Rob spent 3 months hiking the Appalacian Trail. We've spent a lot of time in New Orleans volunteering.

Rob and I went to middle school and high school together, but only reconnected at our 40th high school reunion 5 years ago.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We're just beginning the process.

None yet, but have stayed with many friends who we've met on our travels.

Together we enjoy dancing (zydeco, swing, salsa), kayaking, hiking, boating, cross-country skiing, seeing independent movies and cooking good food. We volunteer whenever we can.

I do Afro-Cuban dance and Rob is a baseball nut. We're both avid readers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many in all categories but especially independent and foreign films, books by Latino authors, blues, classical and jazz

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Giving birth, touching mother gray whales and their babies
