I am an Australian currently working in the States. I am doing a post doc at the University of Michigan in materials research. Planning on moving to France next year.

I have way too many interests but at the moment my spare time is occupied by learning french, swing dancing, water colour painting and reading. Chess games are always welcome.

I am pretty relaxed about most things. I am respectful of peoples homes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love travelling but I tend to not enjoy the touristy scenes. I enjoy spending time in cities and moving with the flow rather than rushing about. I think my best trips have been when I have known locals in particular cities, such as trips to friends of mine in Groningen and Utrecht in the Netherlands. Locals tend to know where the good coffee is.

I have also started swing dancing this year and plan to dance in as many places as possible.
