Über mich
I'm new to Couchsurfing! I'm unfortunately not hosting (yet!) because I'm planning a pretty long road-trip, but I'd be open to it once I get settled somewhere. I love to help others and am open to giving a hand where ever I go.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
My biggest weakness when traveling is meeting new people to engage with and learn from, and I think that staying with locals is an elegant solution to traveling affordably and getting the richest possible experience.
Interessen
I'm most at home outdoors or in the kitchen. When the weather is decent I love to hike and backpack, but I can also pass a whole Sunday in front of the stove or brewing beer. I'm relatively quiet but a reliable talker if you get me started on something I'm passionate about.
I'm an avid reader and I love educating myself about world history and politics. It's easy to get me wrapped up in any type of sporting event, even though I don't follow any team or league too closely. More than anything, I love hanging out with friends and talking, as well as going out to eat and drink.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
I'm currently reading a lot about the history of the western hemisphere. Some of my favorite authors are Cormac McCarthy, John Steinbeck, and James Baldwin.
Right now I'm listening to a lot of Fleet Foxes, Animal Collective, Flying Lotus, Miles Davis, and various bluegrass artists.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I've traveled a lot in the last few years and I have a lot of great experiences to share, but I think this one is freshest in my memory: last summer I took a 5-day road-trip from Columbus, Ohio to Boulder, Colorado and back just to get away. This has become my philosophy for traveling: don't wait until you have just the right window of time or just the right amount of money. Unless you're self-employed and independently wealthy, you'll never go anywhere.
Was ich mit Gastgebern teilen kann
I love to cook! I'm always looking to expand my knowledge of different regional cuisines through local knowledge and ingredients. I'm happy to cook for my hosts or join them in the kitchen for some informal lessons.
