About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To rectify the the misconception of english people throughout South America - we do not all drink tea and eat cakes everyday without fail at 5pm.

ABOUT ME

I'm Vicky. I've been living in Mexico for 6 months and now I'm about to go down on South America. I truly hate being a tourist and I'd love to see everywhere through the eyes of the locals. I think South America and I will get along because I've heard political correctness hasn't made it that far yet. Excellent. I like doing most things, but wherever I am, if there is good music and food, I'll be happy.

PHILOSOPHY

I hate pretentiousness more than anything. I take pleasure in the little things, like cups of tea and the smell of garlic on my fingers after I've been chopping it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'll come back to this because I'm not sure what it means yet and my god, I want to get out of this internet cafe because I'm sweating like a blind lesbian in a fishmongers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't had any couchsurfing experiences yet, but I love the idea of showing people around when they come to London, and I've been so impressed by Mexican generousity that I'd like to show some more.

Interests

Music, travel, being silly, eating, cooking, art, learning more about things I know nothing about, saying inappropriate things, smelling stuff.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music would take too long, but general favourites are The Mars Volta, anything progressive, metal, punk, ska, things like the Cinematic Orchestra that I don't know how to categorise. And the Guillemots for sure. Anything good with people who know how to play their instruments.
Books - The Life of Pi is my favourite.
Movies - Back to the Future Part 2, Donny Darko and Requiem for a Dream.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Mexico so far. I love it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I play the saxophone if that helps. And my Mexican slang is pretty good. I'd like to learn more about art from someone who doesn't base their knowledge on the tightness of their skinny jeans and the length of their neckscarf.
