Overview
About Me
Hello, my name is Vittoria. I am 29 and originally from Italy although I have now been living in the UK for over six years.
I am sociable person and there is nothing I love more than chatting with new people, learning something new and feeling a sense of connection.
I am a trainee psychotherapist and incredibly passionate about anything mental health but also passionate about talking on how mental health is politicised.
I love music, walking, the seaside and cities (although I always feel the need to escape to nature after a little bit). I also love reading, visiting museums and anything art related.
I am currently taking a year off work and studies and travelling in South America until May 2024.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on Couchsurfing as I am currently travelling in South America until May 2024.
During my travels I would love not to just be stuck in hostels and surrounded with fellow europeans and often a crowd with whom I can struggle to connect. I hope through CouchSurfing I can get to meet likeminded individuals and locals that can give me the best tips.
At the same time I do not expect people to spend all their time with me, I am proudly very independent and my solo time is as important to me as the time spent in company.

Music, Movies, and Books
I am currently reading "Mad World: The Politics of Mental Health", which I am enjoying a lot.
I also love Gabor Maté's books and philosophy.
I enjoy reading feminist literature as well ( one of my favourites is "The feminist killjoy mainifesto").
As per fiction I really enjoy Milan Kundera's books.
Music wise I grew up listening to mainly indie and rock, my love for those genres faded away a bit growing up although now I am reconnecting with it. I love electronic music as well and in the past few years I am really getting into ambient music as well.
One of my favourite movies of all time is "The Shape of Water". I thought "Parasite" was incredible and I have just watched "Poor Things" which I have really loved.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am proud of going back to studying at age 28 to pursue my career in psychotherapy after being stuck in a marketing job I really disliked.
