Hi there! I'm Volker from a German region close to France and Luxembourg. I haven't used Couchsurfing so far really although I've been registered for a while. I'm now engaged and I would love to travel around more with Sara and use the platform. We are pretty laid-back and easy to come along with. We live a vegan lifestyle and in case somebody does so too, that would be a great chance for us to discover certain restaurants in a given city too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have spent several years in several countries, got degrees in English and Spanish linguistics and just love to meet people from other cultures. I think being on Couchsurfing is the perfect spot to do so. Also, as I mentioned, since being vegan might be a bit complicated in certain regions in the world, Couchsurfing might connect me with people that have a similar view on on life in that regard and might be willing to introduce us to great food in their given cities. Of course I am very willing to share bits of my culture, so in case we stay at your house feel free to ask me to bring some German beer. :D

I am pretty open, listening to traditional folk music (which really only old people usually like) up to Ramstein. I have been trained in classical music, so I love this kind of music too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I worked at the Buckingham Palace in London, protecting the paintings, the throne and all sorts of precious things the Queen owns.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I worked in Frankfurt, Leipzig, Vienna, Barcelona, London, went to university in Saarbrücken, Grenoble and Columbia, have been travelling a bit, so there sure are stories to be exchanged. Take a look at my hobbies, maybe you share some of them and we sure can learn from each other.
