Here to straighten out your Canadian misinterpretation
So to kick things off, I'll drop you with a brief background check on 1 of the 33 million who call themselves canucks.
I am a 100% pure bred Canadian with origins, mainly hailing from the once known economic Southeast Asian tiger and former Spanish colony, The Philippines. Usually I don't even bother with explaining my origins, but I've found that many people I've met while travelling are curious about my roots. The simple words of "I'm Canadian", or "I'm from Canada" coming out of my mouth doesn't seem to suffice. Born in central Canada in a little city we call Winnipeg, I come from one of the prairie provinces of this country.
Winnipeg is an anglophone city which has strong francophone roots, as French is the second most spoken language in the province. Yes it is true, there are many francophones or people who speak french living outside Quebec. Anglophone or francophone, no matter what tounge you might speak, no matter what origins you might have, Canada is a cultural mosaic. It is a fact of life, and we embrace it. We invented the word MULTICULTURALISM, we live by it and I'm only one out of the bunch.
I have been in Paris for almost 3 years now, living out my European inquisitiveness. I still don't know exactly when I'll be leaving this continent, but sooner rather than later (unfortunately it is out of my hands). I like to call it my own joyful rebellion :P
I'll be on a lifelong wandering escapade, far away from the social norms of society. Re-educating myself on world cultures and issues for pure self-fulfilment and awareness. Europe, The Americas, Asia, Oceania, you name it and I'm there, even if it takes a lifetime.
Make the best of what you got, there is always someone out there less fortunate then you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love meeting people from around the world and the CS2 project has allowed me to do that from the lovely comforts of my own city!
I've hosted people, I've surfed in unknown territories and had many wonderful cultural exchanges. It is amazing how this community has grown and how it continues to grow. Our curiosities of the outside world has definitely brought this community together and made it stronger. That is what it is all about mes amies!
Good job to all the CS2 admins, volunteers and participants! RIDE THAT WAVE & KEEP SURFING!
I've had many guests in different locales of the Paris region and it has been a huge pleasure, but on the other hand my CV lacks surfing experience. I've only been around several times. Oh that's soon to change...I bet your good old dirty couch on it ;P
September 26, 2005 first couch surfing experience in Paris! Seems so long ago :P

Teach, Learn, Share
I could share some of my european travel agent wisdom, I sure can shed some light to those who got the dance blues, because I'm full of rhythm, and last but not least, my curious brainy hemispheres could use a dose of new knowledge.
