About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel, meet people, play music, paint, share. Eventually live self sufficiently somewhere super remote, and share with other travellers. Be thankfu, mindful and happy!

ABOUT ME

Have just left Gozo, a little Maltese island, and travelling and working across Europe with my boyfriend Scott, aiming to get to Czech Republic in mid July.

I love people, music (especially Balkan and Eastern European folk), painting, nature, cooking, eating and drinking, and sharing all of the above. I'm interested in sustainable living, and would like to learn more about permaculture. My ultimate dream is to live self sufficiently and kindly (with lots of music and good people and a communal art studio!).

PHILOSOPHY

Be yourself, be kind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosted a couple of times, surfed a couple of times, I would like to give back to CS the kindness people showed me when I first arrived in France. For the moment I can't host but will happily show people around, and I will host again when I can.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Each time was 100percent positive. I look forwards to more in the future. I met really gracious, funny and interesting people through CS, and I hope to be able to add to that in the future.

Interests

MUSIC - Gogol Bordello, folk (especially the gypsy punk kind!), a bit of northern soul, 60's ska, Nick Cave, Dirty Three, P.J. Harvey, First Aid Kit, Gillian Welch, Love, Mano Negra, Manu Chao, Goran Bregovic...lots more, not enough space!

Communal living, organic farming.

Art & creative stuff - I love hearing about other people's exciting projects.

Painting.

Hiking, being out in nature.

Cooking, especially veggie food and seafood (I'm not actually vegetarian but I love veggies), wine - although this seems to be strictly drinking it. I know nothing!

Just meeting people and laughing and generally appreciating life.

Music, Movies, and Books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Nothing has been more amazing than the people I've met along the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach English as a foreign language, and can help with English.

Learning: would love to learn about permaculture, sustainable living and organic farming.

Share: I can share cooking, recipes, hiking routes in this area, music, stories. I'm pretty shoddy at guitar, but enjoy a bit of a sing-a-long.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Conversation, music, cooking (although when travelling with my boyfriend he is far better at this, as is happy and very good chef!), laughter, anything that comes up as a surprise that I may not have thought of! Also language exchange if people want - I speak conversational French with some errors but get by fairly well, and English as a native language.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bulgaria, Canada, France, Germany, Hungary, India, Malta, Morocco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Senegal, Spain, Ukraine

Countries I’ve Lived In
