About Me

Louisiana transplant living in Nashville. I'm not the coolest guy on CS, but I will sit out on a porch with you for hours, and I'll definitely help you clean the dishes after we eat. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On CS to meet new people and find places to stay when I travel. I don't have a place of my own to offer yet, but one day, I'd like to give back.

Making music (mostly with guitar), Fighting games (like Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat, etc.), Whitewater, Sunday morning porch chess or go, really good breakfast food, dogs, getting lost, biking, camping, Native American history, Creole and Cajun cuisine, bookswapping

Music, Movies, and Books

I used to have gigantic lists here, but everything was too long and cluttered.

It's mostly just a lot of yelling mixed with some trumpet solos and bottle slides, when I'm being honest with myself. Hip hop can come, too.

I watch a lot of dumb anime series, and aside from Game of Thrones, I don't really have any regular shows I catch.

Horror, sci-fi, comedy and cult films mostly. Aside from Netflix/Hulu stuff, I'm just as likely to fall asleep watching an "Hush… Hush, Sweet Charlotte" on TCM.

I'm reading through JK Toole's works, right now. I've got a bookmark in The Watchmen. Josh Waitzkin's "The Art of Learning" is also on my desk. I wrote an essay that heavily refers to Richard Brautigan's poetry a few days ago. I'm about to buy a new Kindle to store the Dark Tower series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I was once caught in a thunderstorm on top of Roan Mountain in Tennessee - absolutely beautiful/electrifying.

I also didn't die before I was 20, so that was pretty amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

English, Fencing (with swords, but I also have some experience with actual fences if you need that), guitar/bass basics, chess, fighting games, writing/editing, advertising/digital marketing

I'm looking to learn how to cook unique and/or local dishes, do basic handyman work, surf, fly a plane, any martial art, forage, snowboard, and speak in any language that you can teach me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Bad jokes. No really, I've got nothing but dad jokes on deck. Just give me an opening, and I'll throw one in.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belize, Mexico

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
