About Me

I cannot stress this enough: NO REQUESTS FOR LONGER THAN THREE NIGHTS, and generally no more than two.

I've had a lifelong love of traveling ever since my high school took us to Mexico for six weeks every year. I lived in a few countries and wandered for a long time before finding my passion in photojournalism.

I love animals, (and I'm not allergic to any). I'm not vegetarian but I'll respect it if you are (and any house rules that accompany it). I'm gay, if it matters, but it doesn't define me.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

When I first left the U.S. at 18 to travel people were so welcoming and helpful to me and while I've lost touch with most of them this is a small way I can give back and pay it forward. While I also use this site to find hosts when I travel (which is pretty often these days), I've mostly been hosting lately. All my guests have been wonderful and I like that this REALLY IS about hospitality and not money, like other homesharing services.

Photography, movies, traveling, reading (when I have time). I'm up for any adventure, anytime, (almost anytime I guess, I do have to work sometimes).

Music, Movies & Books

Music: Paul Simon, Tom Petty, Leonard Cohen, Tiësto, Paul Oakenfold, Angus and Julia Stone, Passenger, Brett Dennen

Movies: (Almost) every Pixar movie, Fight Club (and everything else David Fincher has done), Harold and Maude, Magnolia, Pi, Love Actually (don't hate), too many others to count. I watch a LOT of movies.

Books: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, On the Road, Sometimes a Great Notion, Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency, (and almost everything else by Douglas Adams), Captain Corelli's Mandolin, Stiff

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I hitchhiked halfway across Guatemala and all the way from the Guatemala/Mexico border into San Diego (except for half an hour once when it started pouring and I was worried about my laptop). Every ride except for one was fantastic. Embrace the unknown!

Countries I've Visited

Australia, Austria, Belize, Canada, Egypt, France, Guatemala, Honduras, Iceland, India, Laos, Mexico, Mongolia, Morocco, Peru, Spain, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I've Lived In

Czech Republic, Honduras, Spain, Thailand, United States
