About Me

I am a 29 year old copy editor with a small web-based ebook publishing company. I am also a traveler and couch surf/live out of my 1983 Toyota Dolphin Motorhome full time, allowing me to live simply and freely. I am an atheist and enjoy intellectual pursuits.

My main priorities in life are seeing new and interesting places, meeting new and interesting people, reading and publishing new and interesting books, and pursuing new and interesting activities.

"When he has obtained those things which are necessary to life, there is another alternative than to obtain the superfluities; and that is, to adventure on life now, his vacation from humbler toil having commenced." -Henry David Thoreau from Walden

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While on my travels, I try to work as little as possible, so any time I can save money on lodging is great. My main goal in life is also to connect with people, and I find one-on-one interaction to be the most rewarding.

Interests

I enjoy playing with my dogs, hiking, surfing, playing the ukulele, reading, hula hooping, playing video games, and taking photos.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Iron and Wine, Sufjan Stevens, The Eels, Ratatat, Queen, etc.

Movies: Anything by Wes Anderson, John Cassavetes, or Stanley Kubrick

Books: Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk, House of Leaves by Mark Danielewski, Into Thin Air by John Krakauer, A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, The Fermata by Nicholson Baker

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Fostering puppies for the San Diego humane society was an incredibly rewarding experience, but also a complete (literal) shit storm. I would take being up to my elbows in excrement anytime to be able to foster pups again.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can provide copy editing, light web development (WordPress), or writing help/lessons. I can also cook and clean and can show you some chords on the uke.
