ABOUT ME
Hello, my name is Warren Fong. I am a senior at UC Irvine and I am about to graduate. My feelings about this are a mix of terror and excitement though I imagine the two go hand-in-hand. I study English literature at UC Irvine. It is hard to say which work is my favorite. I think I go through moods about what I like to read. Perhaps my favorite experience is reading a great piece of fiction or poetry and having that sense of discovery and awe(currently that would be Killarney Clary's "Who Whispered Near Me"). I want to be a writer by profession and at least by identity. I write poetry. I know this sounds cheesy or romantic but I believe writing is an effort to communicate more exactly and that seems necessary to me. I am pretty laid back by nature. I am always interested in interesting conversation and the passions of others. Small talk should only be used to break the ice.
PHILOSOPHY
hmm... This is quite a heavy question which I don't think I'll be able to answer justly. I live life for life's experiences whether good or bad. I think both are interesting and give the human experience depth. That said, I live not just to experience life but to contribute to it.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am new to couch surfing and I'd like to contribute to what seems like a vibrant community. Much is said about the internet making the world smaller, but it is programs like couch surfing where people can meet each other in person that we learn about how big the world really is.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I am new but enthusiastic.
Interessi
My interests are wide because I think, given the right person, most things are interesting. What I am interested in is an accumulation of other people's passions which I have taken up as my own. First and foremost, I am a voracious reader. My favorite activity is to sit with a new author whose work excites me. After finishing his work, I will look for the writers that he admired or that are like him and build a sort of literary web. I love to then look up interviews(if there are interviews). The difference between the speaking writer and his writing fascinates me. I listen to music in this way, slowly working through decades of music. You can hear what a musician has listened to through his music. I have started listening to opera recently and found it an exciting field. The sound is so dramatic and wide. I suppose this will serve more as an example of how I am interested rather than what I am interested in. If you have something interesting to say, talk to me.
