I am new to this platform so please bear with me.

First and foremost, I love Hawaii. Born and raised here, I have been able to travel the world and can say that this is the most beautiful place on earth. While other places might have the scenery, historical significance, or nightlife, to me there is a spiritual element that sets these islands apart.

Though Waikiki is quite commercialized, there are still nice peaceful places to commune with nature and enjoy a moment of solitude all within a few minutes drive from the city.

Please note that I travel quite a bit and sometimes spontaneously. As a result, I do not confirm anything more than 45-60 days out. Once confirmed however, I will be here for you. I can usually pick you up from the airport too!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to show off my city, especially to first time travelers. I always find it interesting to talk with people from faraway places to hear their ideas and aspirations.

In the end however, despite our external differences, I believe that we are all the same inside and want for many of the same basics in life.

Finally, I am a believer in karma. Every guest I host is a deposit in my "karma bank". Who knows when I might need to make a withdrawal.......

Interests

I love to travel. I am an urban hiker and love to walk different cities. I also like to hike in the mountains and Hawaii is a great place to do both.

I love animals, especially dogs, but don't have any since I travel so much.

Love most anything transportation related especially cars and aircraft. I love to understand how things work and I should have been an engineer...

I spend way too much time sitting on the beach, watching a sunset or looking up at the Milky Way galaxy, contemplating life.

Teach, Learn, Share

As a former tour guide when I got out of college, I have learned a lot about Hawaii and the culture of the Polynesians. Hawaii is a fascinating place from a historical standpoint and I love sharing that with people.

From the Hawaiian's unique language and monarchy to our affiliation with the UK (the Union Jack is part of the Hawaiian flag) and then acquisition by the US, Hawaii's has so many different peoples contributing their own thread to make the rich tapestry we today call "Hawaii".
