Chi sono
CURRENT MISSION
Changing the world with art and innovation
ABOUT ME
I studied Communication & Multimedia Design, graduated in 2006 and became a teacher at the same university. Early 2010 I quit my teaching job to start working in 3D animation, but inadvertently became an inventor instead. Invention: a free-space volumetric display, or perhaps better known as a hologram projector, like in the movies.
To most people my everyday life would seem pretty dull. I sit and work at my computer, day in, day out. Though enjoying what I do, I don't intend to keep doing this for the rest of my life. I see what I'm doing right now as an investment for the future.
I am also a bit tall. 2 meters (6'7") to be exact. Good for reaching high shelves, or changing lightbulbs.
PHILOSOPHY
Live life as best as you can and help others do the same. Don't be afraid to dream big, it may help you achieve great things.
If put into a category I guess I'd be a secular humanist.
Perché sono iscritto su Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Slowly.
For now I'm living with my parents, starting up my own business while keeping living expenditures to a minimum. This means that right now I'm unable to host. This is likely to change as soon as I move out, though.
I think that as soon as work starts to pay off, I'll also get to travel (and surf) more often.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Just once, when I stayed in Utrecht for the HAFF 2010. But it was a great one!
Interessi
The animated medium in general, but I do have a soft spot for Japanese animation in particular. Through Japanese animation I've also grown fond of Japanese language and culture.
A few other things that pique my interest are cirque nouveau, modern dance, strong A.I., screenwriting and gamedesign.

Musica, film e libri
Films (just a few): Ghost in the Shell, Grave of the Fireflies, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, The Hudsucker Proxy, Inception, The Incredibles, The Iron Giant, Kill Bill, Lost in Translation, Minority Report, Paprika, Rebuild of Evangelion, Shaolin Soccer, Spirited Away, Summer Wars, Les Triplettes de Belleville
Music: the original soundtracks of a lot of films, series and games. Apart from that, my tastes are not easy to categorize :p
Books: I don't read a lot. I guess I'm too much of an audiovisual junkie.
Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto
Attending the Holland Animation Film Festival for the very first time in 2006. Have been going ever since, but there's nothing like that first time.
Insegna, impara, condividi
Having taught 3d design and animation at NHL University (Netherlands) for 3½ years, I'd love to share thoughts on 3d animation, but also on programming and other multimedia related subjects.
As for learning: I have had a few introductory courses on Japanese language and culture, but I'm very much out of practice. I'd love to pick it up again some time.
