ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Francie. I signed up to CS while living in France as an English assistant. I live with my boyfriend (he's from Scotland) in a one bedroom apartment in Brussels near Place Jourdan and have a living room with a sofa bed, as well as coffee, tea, and hospitality to offer guests. I live with my very well-behaved Yorkie, Bea, Although I am not around during the day, I am happy to point you in the direction of all things wonderful in Brussels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've only hosted CouchSurfers so far, and have very fond memories of the experiences, such as sitting on the porch in Athens, Ga, listening to the train go by with iced tea in hand and the evening ahead.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love to go to the movies and will go to a movie I know will be bad just to go to the movies. That being said, I love Vanishing Point, True Romance, movies of the 70s, Charlie Chaplin, The Gods Must Be Crazy, Silver Streak, Network, Straw Dogs, Roman Polanski, Turtles Can Fly, Visitor Q, Hustle and Flow, and Werner Herzog. For books, I love Suite Francaise, Minima Moralia, Milan Kundera, The Butter Battle Book, Assia Djebar, Bleak House, Myself When Young, J.M. Coetzee, Battle Royale, Haruki Murakami.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As an undergraduate in college, I took up skydiving as a hobby. I felt like Mary Poppins upon landing :)

I have worn pretty much every hat in the horse world a person can wear, from groom to vet tech to journalist to barn manager.
