Awakening "sleeper steampunks", travel the country, get in touch with our nomadic selves, and sing for our supper... or street perform, whichever. ^_^
I am using this profile for 3 of us who are living on the road starting in April 2009. We are a group of New England based entertainers, part of the steampunk sky-pirate group "The Penny Dreadfuls". (2 guys, 1 girl going on this wacky adventure.)
We are all in our 20s, from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. We have skills in theatre, art, drawing, hand-made goods, survival, and random busker-like trades.
We're a fun-loving group, entirely interested in exploring different aspects of our country's culture. Non-smokers all around.
If you are in the New England area and have a driveway we could park our 26" motorhome and a bathroom we could freshen up in, please contact us!
Show by your work, not by your wallet.
The journey is the destination.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
New to this community. Hosted when I wasn't on the road, in January. Would be open to hosting in the future as well, when/if I had another place.
In the past 6 months, I have played host to friends who needed somewhere to crash, and a couple through CouchSurfing.
Steampunk, theatre, art, movies, movie premieres, cosplay, cartoon villains, live music, street magic; we all are dorks, playing things like D&D, Magic, and Vampire; some of us LARP. We all work at a Halloween park in October, in Massachusetts. Looking into other such live-acting gigs.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: Jason Webley, Dresden Dolls, Toadies, Creature Feature, Tiger Lillies
Movies: run the gamut, but I think we all like superhero movies.
Books: Can't be sure on all of us, but can't go wrong with the classics.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The group of us has been welcomed into the New England fan Convention scene as guests. We have met all kinds of "dorky" famous people, from being dinner conversation between Robert Picardo and Ethan Phillips of Star Trek: Voyager fame to being on a guest panel alongside Robert Axelrod the voice of Lord Zed from Power Rangers. But probably one of the best things we have done has been hosting an impromptu dance part in Vermont, where we got to share all kinds of sepiachord style music with a bunch of people we'd just met. It was a blast!
Teach, Learn, Share
Between the three of us we have skills in: hand-stitching, knitting, juggling, survival, costume and prop making, drawing, acting. We have solid knowledge of Halloween, myths, monsters, horror movies. We would love to share our experiences as New England natives; as steampunk pirates; as Convention guests.
We are always eager to learn about how other people do things or celebrate things. Especially interested in your local legends and myths. Would love to go ghost hunting with you. Or learn more about live entertainment. Also interested in learning more about how to live off the land in not just our territory.
