About Me

I'm a 26 year old male from Melbourne, Australia. I'm doing a long term adventure around Europe, with no particular plan to go home soon. I enjoy traveling by myself, as it creates opportunities to meet new people.

I've been living in Berlin the past year, and am making effort when I get the time to see what parts of Europe I can!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

In June 2017, I travelled from Asia through Siberia to Europe. I've done the hostel thing plenty of times now and now I'm keen to try something new and meet some interesting people, so it's time I experience couch surfing :) I'm pretty easy and relaxed, respectful, and would really like to meet some locals!

Interests

My interests are probably more varied and wide than what I've listed but I always find 'my interests' a difficult question to answer. That being said, it's safe to say music is really my primary passion, usually (but not limited to) electronic. Which includes listening to, taking about and making music :)
I do enjoy taking my camera out on occasions, usually when abroad and a city strikes me as something new to my eyes!
I also really enjoy a good chat about anything from politics to books to philosophy and so on.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music includes most things techno, house, IDM, ambient, experimental and hip hop related. Outside of that, I also love disco, funk, jazz, some psych rock, folk... Music is good when it's good, and it's better when it's weird. Books I generally enjoy classic literary fiction stuff (for want of a better term), also non fiction i really love to read - particularly books on history and politics, society and culture.
Movies... Not a total movie buff but I really like stuff by Kubrick, Cohen Brothers, Scorsese, Fincher, Aronofsky, McQueen, Tarentino, and so on

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent about a month volunteering in Serbia and Greece with refugees, which was an incredible opportunity. Certainly a separate experience to anything else I've done on this trip and I hope I get the chance to offer more help in the future.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm traveling by myself so most of the time I'm pretty available for anyone who is interested in meeting people. I'm really not a difficult person, I enjoy a chat and a drink, else I can be out of the house and find my own way if need be. I've been moving about the world for long enough to have a few interesting stories to tell. I'm pretty independent also, so no need to feel like I need to be looked after ;) I was veggo before I left Australia so I'm totally fine to avoid meat! (Actually it's probably time I get back to vegetarian eating now I think about it)
