ABOUT ME

The moment when everything you thought you wanted has either come and gone, or arrived and it turns out you really don't like what your life has amount to so far... yep. That happened to me. Approximately 10 years, of heading down a path that for better or worse left me right where I started. A little bitter, a little more wise, and very grateful that it only lasted 10 years.

In the last year and a half I compiled a bucketlist of all the things I want to accomplish before death. Some people think at 29 that I'm too young to think that far ahead... I just quote Andy Dufresne from Shawshank Redemption "Get busy living, or get busy dying."

There's so much of the world I want to see... and that (and my daughter) are about the only things in this world that mean too much to me.

PHILOSOPHY

I truly believe that at the end of this life, all we can take with us are our stories... so we better write them well.

Life can end in the next moment and the last thing I want to do is regret this one.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now, I'm out seeing the world. At the moment, I'm pit stopped in Charleston, WV. WHere I haven't lived since I was 13 years old. I'm working a temp job here and recharging the funds in order to move on to something else. Lucky for me there's family here.

I spent my weekends and freetime exploring the areas around West Virginia and visit regionally located friends.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've not surfed yet. I'm interested to meet travellers though, and the wonderful hosts who allow us types into their home. For the entire mindset, I am grateful that this kind of concept exists. It shows a brighter side of humanity than many believe exists.

Interests

I am a recovering slug. LOL. In that I mean, I'm trying to overcome the inertia that 10 years domestication does to the body. I'm becoming more and more active and trying to spend more time, hiking, walking, swimming, and camping.

I love long talks and nights spent up sharing jokes and stories over cold drinks or hot coffee, and people watching in crowded areas.

I smoke cigars occasionally as a hobby and personal interest. I also like to visit and sample wine from various wineries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spring of 2012 I lived aboard my sailboat for 4 months. Very small but quaint, and no A/C. For obvious reasons (it was in Florida!) as the summer approached I moved off the boat and forward on my journey.

I've also driven across the USA, 3 times, it's not quite the big deal that it used to be but of the people that I know, it's rare.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've practiced paganism for about 12 years, and it's undergone a lot of personal transitions and changes but I am highly knowledgeable about the occult because of it.

I've spent the last 10 years in marketing and have a background in corporate america where I was the marketing director for a multinational corp. I was in charge of directing and refining all web based marketing for the north american branch.
