ABOUT ME

I'm a dreamer, a designer, an artist. (I study mechanical engineering at MIT but that's really just a formality) I absolutely love to travel and meet cool people along the way and explore!

Being a dreamer, I'm spontaneous and try out new things whenever I can (or think of them)!

I was born in ukraine, but am russian ethnically, lived in germany/uk/usa growing up and have travelled around as much as I can while in college. I like to think that I absorb a little of everywhere that I go . .

I'm just starting out. Excited to see what it will bring :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Last summer, I ended up living in Barcelona with a girl who quickly became my best friend (and still is) and two other guys - we spent every weekend that summer either hosting or traveling (couch surfing - it was cute, us four fitting into tight spaces to sleep - although there was that one time for the running of the bulls festival that we had to sleep in a park..). and it was incredible.

Intereses

I absolutely love dancing! salsa, merengue, bachata, hip hop, contemp, samba, and know some ballroom. i want to learn flamenco!

In a more general sense, i love the arts: this is broad, but, museums! plays, operas, orchestras; basically, I really enjoy performances! I've done a lot of artwork myself, using all of the traditional media (pastels are probably my favorite. currently working on a mural)

I recently got a DSLR so that I can get more into photography.

all sorts of sports: skiing, running, biking, swimming, tennis, skating.. I just started rock climbing!

And, I wouldn't be on this site if I didn't love to travel. I find languages and culture quirks fascinating. all sorts of quirks fascinating, actually.

random picking of films i loved: hugo, slumdog millionaire, inception. I like films that make me think or reflect.

books: the count of monte cristo was my favorite book when I was younger - I was so excited when i finally visited the famous chateau d'if off the coast of marseilles!

Algo increíble que he hecho

Taking a spontaneous day trip to monaco (i was staying for a week with a friend in turin, italy and daytripping around when he had work). i didn't have a bathing suit, but I really wanted to dive off of the cliffs into the waves. I improvised, and I'm glad: that feeling of diving was so fantastic : bliss and thrill simultaneously.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

dance! it's a passion of mine, and i've experimented with a lot of different styles, and love teaching people (especially the latin ones). would love to teach russian or spanish.. and am super eager to learn italian and german and arabic would be pretty neat.
