About Me

Learning swimming, though I'm still a little afraid of water...

I was born and grew up in Shanghai and am currently studying in New York.

I started to travel around when I was in college. The first trip was with my friend to Korea. Not with travel agency any more, we plan the trip by ourselves.

At that time, I started to realize how interesting travelling is. Not only when travelling, but also when preparing for it. To gradually get to know the country and the culture you are about to visit is a kind of enjoyment for me.

During travelling, I like to talk with others, both the native and the travelers to know about their lives, their countries and their stories. The world is so big, and I cannot wait to know more about it!

I've got a list of the places that I want to go, and the list is getting longer and longer as time goes by. Hope when I grow old, I can proudly show others my list and tell them I've visited all the places on the list and achieved all my goals!

Always enjoy the trip!

Just enjoy everything in life!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first get to know CS through a Chinese travelling site where people will talk about and share their stories.

A girl then shared with us her journey across Asia and mentioned CS.

Thought the coolest part of CS is that we could learn more about each other, also our cultures.

Haven't got much experience yet.

History. General history books may have only hundreds of pages for hundreds of year. Amazing, right? The story of wars, of different countries flourish and then disappear. It's so splendid and complicated. Sometimes makes me think what we could leave for the descendants to read.

Korean music. Not just K-pop! There are so much good music and so many great singers in Korea besides the most famous idol music there.

Also, travel, travel, travel!

Music, Movies, and Books

Love Korean music and all types of movies. Favorite TV series last year being the Strange Things.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Two years ago when I was traveling in Thailand, I met two Korean guys in the household. They were visiting orphans and child care centers in Southeast Asia, taking photos for free for those children there. The time I met them, they were planning to go to China. I thought it would be very fun, so I cancelled all my original plans and joined them.

We did horse riding in Songpan, joined local volunteers in Chengdu and ended our trip in Shanghai.

Precious experience in my life!

Teach, Learn, Share

I really want to learn the history and culture of any country. I would like to know and even directly experience how people live everyday, what they enjoy doing, also the delicious food there!

Since my major in college is Chinese language and literature, I'd like to share what I know with anyone who is interested in China.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My traveling experience and I am super interested in histories!

I can teach you Chinese and Korean. Also since I am living alone in New York for a while, I can cook you some traditional Chinese dished. No guarantee on the looking of the dishes, but it will taste good lol!
