About Me

our mission changes every day

We're a couple with 15-month-old daughter Marcelina. Xymena works as an interpreter/translator and lecturer at the Jagiellonian University and Tadeusz is a conductor and runs a guest house in Kraków.

If you don't entertain yourself, no-one will do it for you

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Currently our flat is too small to offer a couch and since we have a little baby girl we don't go out that often any more but we'll be happy to offer you a cup of tea or a glass of wine, have a chat and recommend some nice places to visit/eat/stay in Kraków and the region, and if you travel with a baby - some children-friendly places.

Xymena (and her friend Karolina) surfed Luciano's couch in Portici. It was Xymena's first experience as a couchsurfer and was excellent.

As Tadeusz is a conductor and pianist and Xymena plays the cello it's obvious we love music (classical but also Pat Metheny, Yellow Jackets, Keith Jarret, Weather Report, Stan Getz and lots of others)
We also like cooking, going for long walks, reading (we have no TV), seeing new places, nighttime trips by car, Eddie Izzard... Xymena is a ski lover and Tadeusz loves cars (or actually any vehicle that has a motor) and knows a lot about them. He is a journalist by profession and has his column in one of local newspapers.

Music, Movies, and Books

Tadeusz is currently reading a book about Martha Argerich, Xymena The Century of Surgeons by J. Thorwald. Lately we've seen some excellent Polish movies (Dom Zły, Rysa, Różyczka, Rewers), which we highly recommend if you want to learn something about the Communist times in Poland.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

seen: Nowa Huta stell works at night,
done: walking in Scotland's Grampian Mountains, visiting the Croatian island Hvar on a scooter,
having our daughter
