Hi, my name is Yadira! I'm a Cultural Anthropology major. I was recently diagnosed with ADHD which is fantastic, because now I know why I've been struggling in school my whole life! It's a huge relief to know that I'm not lazy or less intelligent. I'm currently working really hard to graduate. I love the outdoors and I also love learning about different people from different cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think this is a great community of people and I enjoy making friends with people from this site. I'm not currently trying to couch surf and I can't host anyone just yet. I have roommates and none of them are open to the idea of hosting people, so I have to respect their wishes.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I really love a lot of music. I can't pick a specific genre.

Movies: Captain America: Winter Soldier, Dennis, Amreeka, The Last Samurai, The King's Speech, True Grit (both versions), Princess Mononoke, Planet of the Apes. I especially loved Arrival.

Books: I LOVE sci-fi books, and reading about science stuff in general. As far as nonfiction goes, I'll read anything related to Anthropology.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I'm currently doing is studying the behavior of silvered leaf langurs and Allen’s swamp monkeys in captivity. I hope that I some day get to encounter wild monkeys in my travels :).
