I spent an exchange semester in China a few years ago. Loved it. Now I've recently graduated, and moved back! My degree had a focus on economics and math (as in, completed the intermediate level courses but not the advanced).
I'm not big on hobbies ... if I have a couple spare hours and don't feel like studying chinese, I'll open up a web app and binge on news, foreign and chinese. Or podcasts. My mandarin is at the beginner level, but I hope to be fluent in a few years. I want to reach the point I could choose to take a masters in Economics at a Chinese University.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I was taking a course in Beijing, but I didn't have time to make any reservations. My list of recommended hotels were all booked up, so I set up this account in a hurry looking for a place to stay. I like the idea of this site, so I'm keeping my profile up ... but I'm living in a very tiny apartment and my couch is about 1.5m long, so I doubt anyone would want to crash there :( . I don't have any intention of travelling around China until my mandarin is better (it'll be a lot better a year from now). But I hope I can participate at some point.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending Spring Festival in Gansu is probably the biggest adventure I've had. Going back to school and graduating as a mature student is what I'm most proud of. I hope the greatest things are still ahead of me.
