Overview
About Me
Hello,
I am Yilmaz. I am from Istanbul/Turkey. I moved Berlin at April 2018 to gain experience about living in another country and meet people from different origins. I am also working as a software engineer at Berlin based startup company. Berlin is a first stop of my journey and I would like to live different continents in next years.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am also new in Berlin and I am still discovering the city. Berlin is full of surprise and it has great diversity of people. I would like to share my experience and learn from you to know more about Berlin. I have plans for living at different countries and meeting people from all around to world is great start for that. Also, as a new expat I want to improve my english conversation skills and learn about your languages.

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen all kind of music but regarding the my mod, my interests are changing. Currently I am interested in ethnic musics (Especially balkans). However folk music is alway unique for me. I am big fan of Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Judy Collins.
I am currently interested in Latin Literature, I am planning to read Borges, Garcia Marques and Jose Saramago for next months. Also, Herman Hesse, Salman Rushdie, Yasar Kemal, Sadik Hidayet and Dostoyevski are my favorite writers.
I like movies, especially Woody Allen movies. Also, I am highly interested in Nordic and Iranian cinema.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I left my all family, friends and previous life in Turkey and moved to Berlin without knowing anyone. I was the hardest decision of my life,
