About Me

Hi, I'm Yenni. I love to experience art, music, parties, local events, but most often books, nature, learning, projects, experimenting and experiencing. I'm in a nomadic stage of life that has me cat sitting and house sitting, crashing with friends, and embracing slow travel.

Currently travelling. I'll be in Den Haag until February and would love to meet up and explore.

I'm queer in my gender (they/them), philosophies, thoughts, approaches. All bendy, weird, wonderful, curious and evolving.

I hope to connect with people who understand that rest is revolutionary and that alternative living can be both practical and deeply nourishing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I had such an incredible experience over 15 years ago with couchsurfers in Iceland. I went for a week and stayed for two months, convecting with the big CS community at that time. Then America, Ireland, Norway. I was in a car accident 10 years ago and a head injury slowed me right down, but I'm back at it this year, finally! So far sticking close to the attic where all my stuff is in Hebden Bridge. Winter plans TBC, but trusted housesitters is the future. Be great to meet up with folk in different places. I'll workaway to support different places and people too, and build my skills.

I'm pretty low energy but as long as I get some quiet and morning coffee, I'm good for endless walking and exploring the streets.

Interests

I'm drawn to simple living and discovering how little I actually need to be happy. Love hearing local history and stories from people who've lived in a place for years. I enjoy afternoon matinees, hanging in libraries and cafes, figuring out practical nomadic skills for on the road like food preserving (very early days!). Community meals and soup kitchens are beautiful places. Shared food and radical hospitality brings the people together. I have to manage my energy a lot so I keep things pretty low key.
