ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Ying, you can call me Gloria, too. I'm the kind of girl always wearing a big smile. So when you see me for the first time, you will feel easy and free to talk to me. I'd like to share my stories and feelings with you. You may find me outgoing, but I also have a quiet part, such as reading, walking alone, watching movies, etc.

I love traveling, and went to a lot of beautiful places, sometimes with friends, sometimes alone. I grew up in Xi'an, went to college in Beijing, and now work in Shanghai in an oversee travel company.

I have an open mind. If you meet me in person. I'm quite sure you'll like me.

PHILOSOPHY

Do not live a regular life. Life is just several decades, there are lots of places to go, lots of things to try. If I'm set in a certain pace to do a certain thing, I will be crazy!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Back to my college time, there was an American teacher who became my close friend during the time I tutoring him Chinese. I respect him because he has been to more than 50 countries. Once he told me, there was a way of homestay in Europe that you could sleep on a stranger's couch and get involved in his life, you two may become friends, so next time when he goes to your place, he can stay in your couch, too. It seemed new to me at that time. And last year I read a girl stayed on 81 different couches in her trip. I started thinking to try this way as a window to experience another life. And now, I'm here.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In my home Xi'an, I hosted Robert from England. I really learned a lot within the 2 days we spent together.

In my Taiwan trip at the end of 2012, I surfed with 5 different hosts there. I was really touched by each of them and would like to travel Taiwan again for the kind Taiwanese.

In my gap year trip to Southeast Asia, I surfed with 2 hosts in Vietnam.

In my short trip to the US, I stayed with one one most amazing host I've been with in LA.

This is a very nice place to know great friends who love traveling from all over the world. I'm kind of getting addicted to this way for traveling.

I like to hang out with my friends, swimming, travel alone, watch movies and U.S. TV Series, grow small plants in lovely cans, make yummy cakes:)

There is a band in Taiwan called "Mayday", I love their music and the optimistic feelings they spread.
I like feature movies and read literature.

-Got tattoos in Vegas.
-Hitch-hiking for 1,000km in Tibet.
-Traveling alone in Southeast Asia for 2 months.
-Hiking 28K in Kanas to the northwest border of China.
-Visit the shooting studios of "Friends", "the Big Bang Theory", and "2 Broke Girl" in Warner Bro. Factory.
-Teaching in the poor mountain village of Southwest China for 6 months.

Now I live in a small apartment in Shanghai, there are just one room with a double bed and a small sofa. So maybe it's not private for sufers and myself. Anyway send me request and we will see.
