About Me

ABOUT ME

38 year old male software developer who has done a bit of world travelling. I am friendly, respectful and appreciative for hospitality and kindness others show to me. I enjoy good company, but also respect people's space.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I would like to meet new people in the areas I visit, as well as save some money on hotel bills. I'm being honest, that I am a bit frugal when it comes to travel expenses. Considering I have traveled through the jungles of Africa and have couchsurfed in people's huts that were infested with malarial infested mosquitoes, I think I can probably manage to rough it in the couchsurfing world, even if My life has become a bit comfortable. I'm always up for adventure and experiencing new cultures, ways of life and different types of people. I like to consider myself a communal or tribal person in nature and enjoy a social atmosphere. My life as a software developer in a rather introverted city like Seattle has taken me away from the social atmosphere and lifestyle I enjoy.

Interests

I enjoy hiking, weightlifting, studying languages and into natural health and nutrition.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am into Classical, Opera, Folk, Flamenco but my deepest love is for Middle Eastern and Yiddish/Klezmer music. I also appreciate several styles of World music, ranging from Celtic to Indian to African. Although I do love the classic rock music and 60s-90s music. Even I appreciate most genres of American music. My music tastes may put me in a different class with most people in the Northwest, but I am not ashamed to be a bit different in this regard.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I climbed South Sister mountain in Oregon. That trip was a while back , but I know I got it in me to do it again, although I may not lug the 50lb pack on my back this time.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories and probably hours of interesting conversation on a variety of subjects. As well, I have no problem reciprocating my hosts if they have desire to stay with me as well.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Ethiopia, Ghana, Mexico, Netherlands, Tanzania, Uganda

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
