About Me

Hi - My name is Yoyce Apollo Jones and graduated Amherst College and Columbia University - SIPA. As a general rule, I love jigsaw puzzles, woody parks, walking, bicycling (probably my favorite). Meeting new people and learning new things is always awesome. I make jewelry and dance music, especially Calvin Harris, Tiesto, ATB are pretty high up on the list.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For the most part, I am seeking a couch in NYC because I am transitioning back to the City from Washington DC. As for getting started, I work as a Courier for Caviar. Since I've been to NYC and attended Columbia - I know the city well! Further, I believe the New York is a much better place to make money! My intent is to surf a couch for one week or less and then move to my own place (a room in an apt.). With my connections, finding a job will be quick work. I also study to enter law school. My main thing is to study the LSAT for Sept. because I am very interested in going to law school! And, I neither smoke nor drink - and I'm still an affable, amusing, person fun to hang with!

Interests

The totality of my interests can't be captured above because I love to learn and I ask questions when I don't understand or know something. As a graduate of Columba University's School of International Affairs (studied history at Amherst) This has led me to 2 years of living in South Asia and it has brought me to DC. Along the way, I've gained so much exposure (and I want more) to so many things that I would fall in love with so I could get to know. All in all, I am a lifetime learner and hope to learn something every day.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite author is Aldous Huxley, any historian on American history. Romance Novels can be very informative so I like those, too. Beatrice Small is a great author. My favorite film of all time is Kubrick's "Barry Lyndon" and Guy Ritchie's "Rock n' Rolla". With regard to music - I love all of it but Dance is my go-to for a great was to relax or to get my blood pumping for the coming day!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have jumped off a cliff in Ipanema, Brazil to paraglide.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teaching, learning and sharing are activities for two people. When I meet people, if I like what they are interested in then I'll add it to my list as well.
