Hey people, my name is Zachary Thompson. I am currently living and working as a kayak guide at Gulf Island Kayaks on Galiano Island, BC. If you are travelling to Vancouver, Galiano is a short ferry ride away and is absolutely paradise. I am having the best summer of my life exploring this underrated part of BC. I just finished my first year at Capilano University in North Vancouver. I am in a program called Outdoor Recreation Management, which is helping me work towards my dream of becoming a distinguished outdoor guided. I not only want to enrich peoples lives by bringing them in to epic wild places, I want to enrich their souls with the happiness I have to share.

I am couch surfing because I have had enough of normality. I am done with making excuses on why I don't have time or money to see the world. I am a broke university student going into the career of playing outside and it is time for me to be free and see the world anyway I can. I am here to travel inexpensively and hopefully do some outdoor guiding internationally along the way.

兴趣

I am addicted to playing outside!! I am certified to instruct kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, snowboarding, and entry level canoeing. I love to cycle, hike, camp, rock climb, and I could throw a Frisbee around at the beach all day. I am also really passionate about music and art. I like to acrylic paint and I play guitar. I like to cook and experiment with different ethnic flavors, I enjoy trying new things. I really appreciate learning new things and I think I could find enjoyment in almost any activity! I like to talk about peoples philosophies on life, levels of consciousness, happiness, and our experiences in world. I am just a hippie looking for self fulfillment.

Music is one of most important things in my life; the passion, the emotion, the stories, the escape, the understanding of other peoples soul. I listen to every end of the spectrum: blues, acoustic folk, funk, soul, hip hop, Spanish flamenco, old school rock, classical, psychedelic rock, heavy metal, LOVE reggae, and so many types of electronic music.

Movies:
Not much a movie or TV watcher but I do really like Quentin Tarantino films. I also really enjoy stand up comedy.

One of the best camping trips I have ever done was at Mt. Garibaldi. I explored, swam, and hiked for a week and the highlight was going inside ice caves inside the Helm glacier.
