About Me

My mission is to discover my mission.

Travelling is my life. I believe there are 2 ways to learn about the world we live in: the first is to read, the second is to travel. I've been around a bit, but not nearly as much as I'd like. Couch Surfing is fairly new to me, and I haven't surfed any couches yet, but its something I'd really like to do very soon.

But you have to live life to the fullest. There is a trap we all fall in, which is to put our dreams on hold until its too late. Its a mistake, you need to follow your dreams - within the realm of practicality, of course. Life is too short, and while at the end of it all you may end up regretting some of the things you did, I think that its even worse to regret the things you didn't do.

Its also important to be positive. Its too easy to be negative in life, and when you're negative, you attract negative things to you. Believe in people and give them the benefit of the doubt. Sure, respect needs to be earned, but treating strangers with respect shows that you respect yourself.

Life will always throw shit at you. Learn to take it without changing who you are as a person. Get stronger, but don't get cynical. Get tougher, but don't get bitter. And above all never let the inner child die.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I'm not really able to host people, but I'm more than happy to meet people and show them whats good in my country. It gives me a chance to discover whats great about this place: when you live here, you sometimes miss whats great about the place you live. So showing people around is really a pleasure and I love it.

Oman is probably the world's best kept secret, and it always surprises me how much people seem to love the place, because living here I see it from a very different perspective. But its a really different way of life than anywhere else in the world. Its peaceful and relaxing, and yet theres enough adventure to keep you entertained for as long as you need.

I've met a lot of awesome people through couchsurfing now. Its great. I haven't hosted and I haven't yet been hosted. All in good time.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

It sounds so simple, but it really struck me. I was in Venice, and there were three men standing on a bridge singing "O Sole Mio" to a very pretty young girl. It was an amazing moment, really quite amazing, even though in words it sounds like nothing out of the ordinary. But its these tiny little things which make life memorable.

Snake Gorge was pretty amazing too. Backwards and barefoot. That was intense.
