About Me

CURRENT MISSION

go overseas in next 12 months

ABOUT ME

Work in an office job in the Australian Industry department and am feeling the need to get out do something different. I have decided to go on a holiday to the USA and Mexico. Would love to meet like minded people and maybe share a leg of travel across southern USA. I love meeting new people and sharing experiences and stories. It is an amazing experience to have a coffee and maybe travel with someone you would otherwise not ever meet. I enjoy a couple of beers in the sun, barbeques, good coffee, talking about all kinds of stuff, politics, sociology, history, relationships, economics, international relations, meditation, good food, great music, interesting art, fashion, making money, spending money and much more. I love getting outdoors on a bicycle or jogging and I find walking is a great way to see a new city or locale. I love travelling and music and like marrying the two where possible. Although I like poking fun at stuff, deep down I am not a very harsh critic of people, places or faces and love to hear about people's stories and backgrounds no matter what they be.

PHILOSOPHY

To keep learning ever more subtle lessons and loves is not a life mispent. Ilove generous open people who make a contribution in any way that suits them and getting on with each other at a macro or micro level is the most rewarding and fun challenge.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new but I want to use CS much more, many friends have raved about it. I have yet to host anybody but am very keen to give it a go and I am available for coffee or a wine/beer almost any time of the day :) The lines are open give me a call. For me, I really hope to meet some local south west americans who may be able to recommend some good pubs/venues, let me dose down a night and pass on the secrets as to where the great coffee is and more....

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Very green. Yet to really get going. Have not receieved much corro, maybe my profile is a little light on. I hope to receieve and send more emails in the next few weeks. If anyone is out there you are very welcome to email and say hello. Almost had some Germans stay but they pulled out last minute with changed travel plans and it has been a little quiet since, I guess the global financial meltdown could be making holidayers a little more frugal, not me :)...

Music, Movies, and Books

butch cassidy and the sundance kid (RIP old blue eyes) and so many more, blade runner, the thing, gallipoli, breaker morant, zoolander, chalrilie wilson's war, juno, little miss sunshine, star wars, jaws, australia, no country for old men, there will be blood, it never ends......

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

sunsets over rivers, everywhere. reinterpreted cliches can be fun too. drinking beers in laos with monkey on your shoulder. reliving famous art scenes in great movies - think Ferris bueller's day off in the Chicago art gallery. riding a bike around lakes and in pine forests, catching small modest gigs and the occassional show too. swan with stingless jelly fish in southern philippines, hire motorbikes in southern portugal, cook up curries with one of australia's best curry cooks.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am able to teach less every year I get older. But I can share my ignorance with the best of them. I know a bit about australin industry participation plans, the police, holosync, south east asia, canberra. Am thinking of undertaking a teaching english class early 09 and then doing 6 month teaching in China or Korea. After that I'd like to join australia's ausasid and build closer links between austraia and east asia.

Countries I’ve Visited
