Hello, my name is Zane, I have been traveling quite a bit in the last few years and met loads of wonderful people during my ventures. I have frequented New Zealand spending roughly a years worth of time working in the wine industry since 2012. I am a member of WWOOF NZ and I love the idea of the cultural exchange and work-trade values that helped create the organisation.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am a member of the couchsurfing community for the sole reason that WWOOFing is not always the most practical when one travels for 3 days to a location. Nor are hosts fond of a 3 day WWOOFer. However, I am happy to lend a hand if and when asked.
Traveling, winemaking, adventuring where ever I can, organic and sustainable farming practices, learning about said practices, cheese, mountain bikes, snowboarding AND skiing, eating tasty food, and many other things...
Music, Movies, and Books
Pretty much all music, except maybe country music... not a fan...
Movies? Ummm, I'd have to say most of those aswell, not really horror movies or anything to grotesque.
As far as books go, my favorite books so far are Pillars of the Earth, and World Without End, written by Ken Follet. They're sort of a historical fiction I seem to enjoy this genre of book
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have made a full circle around the globe and along the way I made some pretty memorable freinds.
Teach, Learn, Share
I am happy to learn any farming techniques regarding biodynamics, sustainable, and organic farming. I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I've picked up along my travels... and as soon as one comes to mind I'm happy to share/teach them.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A polite smile and a willingness to help out with nearly anything... :)
