ABOUT ME

Hello!
I'm Zeina - at the moment in Chicago taking a design course and working with a small transport institute. I grew up in Beirut, moved to London for university, studied abroad in Denmark and moved back to Beirut for a while. I come from an environmental engineering background, and I'm passionate about making the world less stupid and more sustainable. I love cycling in all its forms, for transport, sport, exploration and travelling. Obviously travel is a big thing for me and I spend most of my money on it. I love hearing people's stories and creating experiences. I'm getting a lot more interested in temporarily living in places rather than just visiting them. I love languages, cycling, food, art, real design, meaningful design, mad music, casual jamming, basketball, the outdoors - list doesn't end. My latest flimwhim has been street art, and I'm trying to paint walls in whatever country I move to or visit!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far sparse but fantastic. Met few great people and formed connections with people I would have probably never met without CS - just more interesting to travel and rediscover your own city this way.

Intereses

I have a tiny fascination for black markers, plain notebooks and hidden cafes. I love to think and draw in cafes.

Piano and playing all the random pianos I come across, making music from weird instruments and pots and pans, improvising and jamming. Minimal House Electro Indie Jazz and Classical music are my favourite.

I hate shopping, consumerism, wasting food and throwing stuff.

I like growing my own food. So far its limited to herbs and a few vegetables, but looking to expand when I settle down somewhere!

Too many things but: watching the shooting stars from the highest peak in Lebanon with some of my favorite people in the world. Swimming to a floating sauna in the middle of the Baltic Sea in Denmark and many more I can't remember!
