About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make the most of a 6 month hiatus from work by adventuring my way though Europe!

ABOUT ME

I'm a 28 year old mental health worker from Sydney, Australia, who loves meeting new people, sharing experiences, and immersing myself in new cultures. My boss has surprisingly let me take 6 months off work to travel through Europe.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to be open, non-judgmental, and truly listen to people. I love my job, but I definitely work to live, not live to work. I am a skeptic, but not a cynic. I am a feminist, an atheist, and a humanist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfing and hosting!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have only just joined as a surfer, but fully intend to host when I return to Sydney.

Interests

I love to cook, entertain, watch films, draw, cycle, swim, road trip, picnic, learn, and to get out in nature as much as possible. I also love to read and talk about how to make the world a better place. I love people, but I also like time to myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

Too many to mention! I like all different kinds of film and music (although I'm not as switched on to the contemporary music scene as I used to be, unfortunately). I am a very slow reader (very frustrating), so I mostly read journal articles and non-fiction, but George R R Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire" books are my guilty pleasure!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently collaborated with a small group of friends to put on a music and culture festival in the Australian bush. It was a lot of work (none of us profited from the event), but definitely one of the most rewarding and inspiring things I have aver done.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach basic communication, empathy and active listening skills, anything about mental illness, how to help a friend who is going through a hard time, how to cook almost anything, how to face paint and lots of other little crafty things.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cambodia, China, Fiji, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Laos, Netherlands, New Zealand, Spain, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam
