About Me

CURRENT MISSION

figure out where to go next!

ABOUT ME

I am a low maintenance nerd girl (or so I've been told). I like to do things the hard way, I think it helps me understand how we got here. I want to know why things are they way they are. I ride a bike when and where I can. I enjoy quiet moments between waves, think of curious sharks and the sounds deep down in the ocean.

PHILOSOPHY

Learn as much as you can every day. After that, take care of the earth, and it will take care of you.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to host in SF. My flatmate and previous classmate from HMC got me into it (
Tyler is awesome!). I moved to Hawaii with my job, but my housemates weren't too keen on the idea : (
I just got my own place so now I can host! I can give you travel tips for Oahu and reccomend places to see & things to do. I might be free to meet up on a weekend, or Tuesday or Thursday nights, but with job and extra curriculars my time is limited these days.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I helped my flatmate host in SF, but that was all through his account. I finally have my own place and can host here in Honolulu!

Interests

Currently it is cycle touring!
Field Hockey! We started a club here, I'd love to take you, we have spare sticks & shin guards.
I body board, hike, yoga, crossfit, road bike, swim, salsa, run and read. Not all at the same time... Ok, maybe a few at a time.

I totally dig corny jokes, the lamer the better.
FOOD! I love great food, authentic food, tasty, tasty homemade dishes.

Music, Movies & Books

The Economist!, Nineteen Eightyfour, classics, science journals, national geographic, NPR, This American Life, Radio Lab... The Piano, The Incredibles, Napoleon Dynamite, most any nature documentary, The Discovery Channel...

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I rescued a friend from drowning once. Scary! I was at least a liter of beer deep off the coast of Goa, India, the current was taking us out. Then she said, "I can't make it back." Honestly, I think I would have panicked without the beer.

Teach, Learn, Share

Let me know if you are traveling to India. There is some great advice in the introduction of the Lonely Planet: India, but there's some things they missed too : ) If you are around when I make a pie, I can teach you how to master an American classic - or just ask if I have some time : )

Countries I've Visited

Austria, Costa Rica, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Thailand

Countries I've Lived In

Australia, India, Italy, United States
