About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Cycle tour of Morocco and Europe seeing as many countries as possible in 18 months.

ABOUT ME

Easygoing and we enjoy an adventure! Due to the nature of our work we spent too much time apart and decided to give it all up. Told our friends we were going cycling round Europe in the pub one day and had to stick to it. The idea grew and then began.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We heard of couch surfing when researching for our trip. We joined but to be honest haven't really used it so far. Randomly in El Jadida (Morocco) we had a coffee with a friendly local who turned out to be a host on CS. We ended up sleeping on the roof terrace after a shindig at his house.

Interests

The Sea and Mountains offer the excitement we seek. Anything from surfing and swimming to climbing and hiking. We have lived in a 3 man tent for the most part of 9 months and enjoy the outdoors and a simple life. Meeting different people and making connections is important to us. (Do quite enjoy a few pints every so often)

Music, Movies, and Books

After losing two iPods within a week we were left with only Gerard's mandolin for entertainment (may have drove Rachel slightly mad). We have recently been saved by our close friend who sent us some music. Currently enjoying: London grammar, of monsters and men, miike snow and alt-j.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Yesterday we climbed over the barrier into mount Vesuvius and ran to the top in a small blizzard. Cleared as we got to the top and had it all to ourselves.

Roped up and crossed our first glacier to summit Aguille du Tour in Chamonix.

Cycling the coast of Croatia with constantly stunning views.

Ozoud cascades in Morocco- wandering along the winding river jumping off rocks exploring caves and drinking mint tea in the tiny cafe.

Teach, Learn, Share

Gerard enjoys playing music and would like to play with (or try to at least) other musicians. Happy to play, learn and teach too. Very bad singer but don't worry needs to have had quite a few before starting.

Embarrassed about our liguisic skills. We'd both love to learn more and practice our crappy French.
