I'm a current fourth year at the University of Edinburgh, studying English Language and Scandinavian Studies. I've been fortunate enough to be able to move away from a small town in Northern Michigan and receive my university education abroad. My interests include discussing film or literature, languages, long walks in nature, fried chicken and cheeky banter about RuPaul.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The entire philosophy of couchsurfing. It provides a great medium for people to connect in ways that are not often available to people who are traveling to a new country or place for a short amount of time. One of the best ways to get to know someone is to stay with them and to share experiences with them and by getting to know them and you can better yourself in the process. I think Couchsurfing provides an ideal environment for this kind of exchange and it is something I look forward to getting to experience more!

Interests

I study languages so that is something that I always like discussing and getting to know more about. All languages are beautiful so if you speak one that I don't (or vice versa) I would be happy to do a little language exchange. Teaching/International Education is a field that I hope to get into after university so if anyone has any experience in that, please share. Other than that, I just like to chill with people and cook some food.

The essence of Couchsurfing! If I am able to stay/host, I hope I can trade stories and experiences with the person I'm with. This can range from languages to recipes to just fun stories. By learning, teaching and sharing from each other, we can gain a better perspective of the world and all that it has to offer. Hopefully, I can contribute to this collective learning in some way.
