Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Find time to travel to other places than Germany and Turkey again
ABOUT ME
Fan of cycling holidays and meeting people from distant cultures. Married to a girl I met on my cycling trip from the Netherlands to Uzbekistan. Calm, friendly, talkative, sometimes very Dutch (very direct or outright blunt, if you're from another culture). Open minded, broad interests.
Graduating from my Master's program while working 4 days a week. Need more? Just ask!
PHILOSOPHY
I was named after Ghandi, so it's good to pick something of his: "Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd like to host the odd traveler in Maastricht when I'm around, and show them around town a bit when I have time.
Of course, I'd also like to meet new people by crashing on their couch now and then, though most of my trips currently will be visiting my inlaws in Turkey and my brother in Germany.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None with couchsurfing right now, but I've been hosted through other websites (hospitality club, mostly). Most notably by a family in Tabriz, Iran. This was an amazing experience, especially since later we got to stay at their relatives in Teheran as well.
Haven't hosted anyone else than friends and family so far. Be the first to try our hospitality! ;-)
Interests
Cycling, Games (computer, card & board), sports in general, music, science, books, travels, trying food and drinks, having a good beer, "boring" subjects like economy and politics.
