About Me

I'm a student, a traveler, a vlogger and a blogger. I study Anthropology and Medieval studies and will hopefully be pursuing a Graduate program in Viking and Medieval Norse studies. I travel wherever I can, though so far that's been confined to Europe I can't wait to branch out. And then for those other two things, I make videos about my experiences abroad as a way of connecting with friends and family back home and potential new friends everywhere, and then my blog is a lot of introspection and analysis with a good amount of day to day basics.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couch surfing because I've been traveling a lot and I want to travel even more, but I feel that I've never really made a strong connection with anyone I met while traveling. That's something I'm really looking for and I feel like this is the best place to start that kind of connection.

Interests

Vikings, exploring, and making/watching YouTube videos. Though I also love hiking/camping and horseback riding.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Currently very into K-pop, notably After School and Girl's Day. Vance Joy and Bastille are forever favorites and I just got into Veronica Maggio. I also love Opera, Strauss is my favorite composer thus far.
Movies: All time favorites include Inglorious Basterds, Silence of the Lambs, Hot Fuzz, and the Grand Budapest Hotel.
Books: Stieg Larsson's the Millennium Series (aka Girl with the Dragon Tattoo) is very near and dear to me, any Mary Roach book is a good book, the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is quite possibly the best book, and Tamora Pierce's books about Tortall were an absolutely incredibly important part in my growing up. And Les Miserables, forever t Star Trek (any Star Trek).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My best day ever was when my friends and I explored Oia on Santorini. We walked along the edge of the caldera and swam out to a little island for cliff jumping. After making our way all the way back up the hillside we watched the sun set over the extinct volcano and ate dinner with an amazing view of the town and the Aegean.

Teach, Learn, Share

Want to hear gossip about what Archaeologists get up to off the clock? Want funny stories about European history or Art History? I have a weird collection of facts and stories built up that I am more than willing to share in exchange for new stories. And I'm always up for a language exchange in French or German or English.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well I am a pretty good cook if I do say so myself, and I'm always up for good conversation and getting to know people.
