About Me

I'm a passionate high school teacher who thoroughly enjoys her job. Teaching positions in Taiwan have been very highly sought after, usually when they have 1 permanent position opening up, there would be 100-200 licensed teachers applying. I'm very happy where I am now and find my job very challening yet rewarding. Seeing my students' faces lit up when theor learning interest is aroused is priceless!
I love traveling. I usually travel solo. It'd be a wonderful thing if I could connect with interesting, open-minded, friendly locals during my visit. I have summer vacations around July & August, winter vacation end of January and Feb. Those are the times I usually find myself somewhere overseas. I'd love to meet you!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'd like to try out this idea -- "Stay with locals, not hotels" -- when I travel. Meeting people from around the world as I host them, is a great way to broaden my horizons. And I love hearing people's stories! I look forward to trading cool stories with you. :)
I love playing music too, and seeing standup and improv shows. So if you're down to do those with me, that'd be great too!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Won 14 music contests, 9 trophies, 1 medal and almost NTD 20,000 with my guitar and singing.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a high school English teacher who teaches content that covers a diverse range of topics: stereotypes, plastic surgery, biodiversity, short stories, Shakespeare, black holes, DBCP and its toll on farm workers, etc. I love keeping educating myself on different fields. And I admire like-minded people. But I don't like bossy and arrogant people who think they know everything, and are always trying to "correct" other people.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Materials:
Taiwanese pineapple cakes, wife cakes, etc.
Name something you're interested in Taiwan, and maybe I can get it for you!
