About Me

ABOUT ME

I am an international student from Hungary who has been in Denmark since February 2014. I really enjoy being in this beautiful country and would like to discover as much of it as I can.

When it comes to choose a destination I prefer usually nature and countryside to cities.
Friendship is really important to me. I do not use too much facebook so it is not that easy to keep in touch with me if you do not live near to me.

PHILOSOPHY

“If a problem is fixable, if a situation is such that you can do something about it, then there is no need to worry. If it's not fixable, then there is no help in worrying. There is no benefit in worrying whatsoever.”
― Dalai Lama XIV

In practice it means I am quite a patient and calm person. If there is any problem I throw myself into it full force but do not worry too much if I do not success, I will look for another solution and keep going.

I try to live according to this thought and it works for me quite well.
However my favorite quote from Einstein is also part of my mindset:
"Everyone knows that certain things can not be done until someone comes along who does not know about, and implement."
I try to be that very "someone", not because I want to show How smart I am but because I am really curious and hardworking.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I usually do what I am good at. I cook, because I love cooking and fortunately people mostly like it as well. It is better not to let me be too "innovative" because the result might be too exotic at the end. It is not that common though.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Unfortunately I have not had any "official" experience so far as I have just joined the community. On the other hand I have some "non-offical" ones: my flatmates and I accommodated new-coming students at the beginning of each semester for some days or even a week until they got the permission to move into their apartments. It was really fun for all of us we showed them the city, the second-hand shops, the clubs, everything that might have been important for a student. We hold a barbeque party at the beach and some other little trips as well. :)
And sometimes some friends or friends of friends also happen to spend a few days at our flat. Usually we have a great time then with small trips, cooking, chatting and other activities.

Interests

Well, I could even write here a whole novel here, maybe it would be easier to write about what I am not interested in.
However I really like discovering new places, get to know new people, I love science, art and sports, but I do not like only watching things I want to be involved, I want to participate in everything.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am not a big movie fan, but there are some masterpieces I cannot resist : Curious Life of Benjamin Button, Catch Me If You Can, Man on Fire and some others.

Music: it really depends on my mood. Usually I listen to punk, classical music and latin dance music.

When it comes to books my favorite is a Hungarian book "Slave of the Huns" by Géza Gárdonyi. I have read it at least 5 times. In the past 4 years I have read it in each year and it gave me something new each time.

My other favorite is the "For whom the bell tolls" by Ernest Hemingway. It is the book that has touched my soul the most. The 'great' mix of tragedy and joy, something like the essence of life; tempting and dreadful at the same time.

Teach, Learn, Share

Although my main expertise field is marketing, sales (this is what I have been taught for 3 years) I think what I could share through such a short time is my attitude to life. I do not think it would be so unique but it has been working for me in the last 21 years quite well so far. I try always my best but I do not stress at all.
