About Me

Gain deeper exposure to other cultures. Expand my knowledge of the world.

In the words of Lipsynka, "Who am I? What am I doing here?" Let's see. I teach ESL (English as a Second Language) so I get to meet people from all over the world in my job; I love it! My family is scattered all over the United States (Arizona, New York, Florida, Massachusetts, Southern California) so my local family is my group of friends. We love to get together for board games, dinners, movies. parties and other adventures. I love living in this gorgeous city which values every human being equally. It's a beautiful place, inside and out. I love to experience the outdoors, so this is a fantastic place to live. Some of the things I do from time to time are hiking, camping, walking, swimming, laying on the beach, listening to live music, dancing, cooking, roller blading, skiing, scuba diving, drinking cocktails, lounging, listening to public radio, going to the theater, sitting in cafes, people watching, laughing, laughing, laughing, reading, and of course, traveling! I love to be silly and look for every opportunity to do so.

Live and let live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Just had my first couchsurfing experience in Salvador, Brazil, and it was incredible! There is no better way to get to know a place than through a person who lives there.

Long before Couchsurfing existed, I met a friend from Mexico on the Internet. He let me stay on his couch in Guadalajara on and off for three months as I traipsed around his country. Even now, years later, I feel so grateful.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies, and started a movie club with some friends last year. We go to the movies once a month, and the only rule we have is that we all have to agree on which movie to see. We all love French cinema, so we often see French films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba diving in cenotes (caves) under a Mexican jungle. Night diving in the sea. Outdoor salsa concert at the malecon (seaside) in Havana. Eaten lunch off the vines during a hike above the Cinque Terra. Paragliding off Aspen Mountain. Went to a hidden party in the forest near Havana. Zip line in the forest of Costa Rica. Watched a volcano erupt in Costa Rica, as well as in Mexico City!

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach English as a Second Language at a Bay Area community college, and am happy to help you learn if you're interested. If not, no worries; I would like to learn your language!
